My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I was not convinced of the merits of the read until half way through, but I am glad I kept going. I wish I could give it 3 1/2 stars because it was better than average for better than half the book. It took me a while to determine who the story was really about, but once I got there, I was hooked. Gardiner and Daley are compelling characters on their own and the trials of their dysfunction gripped me hard right to the end. A great read for those that want a little grit on their summer reading list.
